One thing I’ve always loved about being part of a design team is that you often get to play with products that you might not have picked up on your own. This month I got to try my hand at using embossing plates….something I’ve never done before even after all these years scrapbooking! The plates from American Crafts are fun because they are the perfect size for the sentiment on a card. Here’s one that says “Celebrate”: (it’s hard to get a good shot of the white on white embossing…sorry!)
I think the embossed sentiment gives the card a polished, classy feel. Love that! My next project this month was to use pastels on a layout. I started with a non-pastel hot pink background and then toned it down with some lighter paint strips. I really like the heart chipboard letters!
And finally, I created a project for the “Recycled” theme this month. I recycled 2 things for this project: packaging from a set of embellishments and a glassine bag. You can read the full tutorial on how I put together this fun little gift box/money holder/shaker box on the AC blog.
