Just about a month ago, Lisa and Sam from Studio Calico emailed me and asked if I’d be up for teaching a Baby Scrapbooking class for Creative Live. I pretty much felt an instant wave of both excitement and nausea. I’ve always loved teaching. I was a teacher before I became a mom and it’s been awesome to translate my high school teaching skills to teaching scrapbooking. So the teaching part… awesome! The part about Creative Live being an online video learning site that broadcasts their classes around the world? That part made me feel a little ill. Cameras? Live? For 6 hours? But now that I’ve had time to start flushing out the plans for the class and have been talking with the people at Creative Live, I’m feeling more and more of the excitement part and less of the nauseous part. And I can’t wait until Oct. 30th!
You can read the course description here, but basically I’m going to be covering all aspects of documenting your baby’s first year… how to get your photos off your camera and into an album… apps that help you keep track of milestones and moments…putting together simple yet stylish pages… using pocket style scrapbooking to record the first year… tips for streamlining the process… ideas for what moments to document… it’s a packed 6 hour workshop. During the class, I’ll be scrapbooking several layouts, a Project Life style spread and even sharing a Handbook I put together of my son’s first year. I’m also super excited about 2 very special guests who will be joining me via Skype to chat about this big topic. I’ll share more about that later! So, I hope you’ll tune in on Oct. 30 if you can. You can RSVP here. Creative Live is also looking for some studio audience members who will take the class and scrap along with me. They’ll receive two Studio Calico kits to work with along with other goodies. If you are interested in being an audience member, please sign up here (and soon, because they will be selecting the audience in the next several days!).
I’m sure I will have more updates as we get closer to the big day. Thanks for stopping by and let me know if you plan to watch!
