The hearts, the colors, the gold embellishments… oh my! This is such a lovely collection of kits this month. I worked with the main Sugar Rush Scrapbooking Kit plus the scrapbook add ons. (These links will only work for subscribers until full reveal at midnight tonight!) So much goodness in there. I blogged yesterday about some of the shop items I wish I’d had while I was working on my projects…so check that out if you’re undecided on what else you might need.
American Girl: This page uses just the main kit. If you have an elementary aged daughter in your household, chances are you can relate to this page. American Girl mania! We took a trip to the mothership (aka American Girl Store) a couple years ago and it was quite the experience. Bring your piggybanks and your patience. She loved it though… even if she did take out the $30 doll up-do the next morning. ugh. For my page I searched for the AG logo (star and name) online and then just traced that in Silhouette software to make my custom cut file. Super easy to do. The polka dot stamp in the main kit can be used with two colors (one for the solid dot and another for the outline circle) which makes for a neat background design.
Some Good Advice: Another main kit only page. I really love the plastic hearts that come in the main kit and I wanted to create a rainbow effect with them on my page. The problem was that I wouldn’t have enough to cover the space I wanted or all the colors of the rainbow if I used just the plastic hearts. So I traced some of them onto patterned paper to get the number and colors I needed. Then I just added in my photos and title (partly hand written) and let the text strip of patterned paper serve as my journaling, because who can argue with that advice?
Winter Hike: I used the hearts and circles cut file as the base for my page, enlarging it a bit to make the circles large enough that I could stamp inside them. I used the gold dipped leaves (so pretty!) from the Gum Drop add on to create a little forest for this hiking themed layout.
Sparkle: This last one I won’t say too much about, other than you need the Card Digital STamp Brush set to get that fun saying and the crown. Love that! And some of the double sided adhesive Silhouette paper and glitter would be useful too. (I didn’t have that…wish I had!) I have a video showing how I put the page together coming up on the SC blog in a couple weeks, so watch for that!
