CHA time is always so exciting! I love to see the new releases from all the different manufacturers and get a feel of what the next trends will be in the scrapbooking world. New colors, patterns, embellishments… yay! This winter Studio Calico is releasing 3 new collections and I can’t really pick a favorite. Although the Essentials stuff is awesome. That will definitely become a staple in my stash.
Here’s my booth layout I created with the yellow color family of Essentials embellishments. I started by sketching in my sunburst design, then stitched along those lines. Then I went back and filled them in with either vellum or chipboard pieces. Isn’t that a sweet quote from Roald Dahl?!
This layout uses the Wanderlust collection. The blue and greens made me think beach pics so I pulled one from last summer and it worked perfectly with the papers and theme of this line. There’s a subtle travel theme to this collection, but it definitely can be used for a variety of pages! To create the title I die cut a stencil styled font with my Silhouette and then filled in the letters with a combo of colored vellum and cardstock. I tried my hand at some brush script (realize I have a lot to learn in the class next month..yay!) and cut that out to add to the title.
My third page uses the Lemon Lush line. This collection is happy and colorful! The little canvas tags are adorable. I created my background with my Silhouette and then built the page from there.
Which collection is on your “must have” list?!
