Popping in quickly to share my Brooklyn Flea pages from this month’s SC kit. I should be at the grocery store instead…but I’m procrastinating on that chore!
Let Love Grow: This is my main kit only layout. I loved that stump stamp and thought it would make a great flower shape. So I stamped it with some Mister Huey’s and Cut and Dry foam (you make your own ink pad essentially by spritzing some mist on a little piece of the foam!) and love how it turned out. Definitely a technique I’ll use again. Supplies: Brooklyn Flea, Glue Glider, Cut and Dry Foam, Brad Setter and Piercing Tool, Mister Huey’s Green Gable, Mister Huey’s Custard, Mister Huey’s Plum Thumb, Stazon Brown, JBS Cough Syrup
My Favorite Disney Photo: I used a larger photo for this one and then ended up trimming my layout down to 8.5×11 at the last minute. I love this shot of my three big kids after a full day at Disney last December. They were worn out! I used the twine to make some circles…what going to make them Mickey ears at first, but that got too complicated and I just settled on circles instead. I just punched a circle of cardstock and covered it with adhesive, then started laying down the twine in a circle. It would have been much easier with the glubers sticky circles. Note to self. Supplies: Snow Cone, Glue Glider, Mickey punch
Christmas Cuties: For this one, I kept it pretty simple. Just made a stiped background and some banners out of patterned paper. Added some punched circle photos and that was it!Supplies: Shiny Brite, Glue Glider, Foam Tab Circles
One & Only: This last page drove me nuts trying to get the design down. I’m still not thrilled with it, but I like the ampersand element. Oh well. It’s about my daughter being the only girl. To make the ampersand, I traced the mask and then poked holes around the edges. It’s a little tricky b/c you need to keep your holes in parallel lines if that makes sense. I used a ruler to keep them aligned, but they’re still not perfect. Then just stitch with twine.Supplies: Salvaged, Brooklyn Flea, Glue Glider, Brad Setter and Piercing Tool, Foam Tab Circles, ampersand mask
And that’s it! Now… off to the grocery store. Guess I should make my shopping list first though, huh? Have a great day!
