Did you have an ice cream truck that visited your neighborhood when you were a kid? I have fond memories of hearing that chiming music, asking for money from mom and dad, and running out to get some fun treats. I think my favorite treats were the strawberry shortcakes and the choco-tacos. Remember those? Well, yesterday my kids got to experience the ice cream truck in a whole new way… from inside the truck! My friend, Barb, who I knew waaaaaay back in grad school has started up her own ice cream and candy truck business in her spare time as an Elementary P.E. teacher. (spare time..ha! as if…) Her truck is so cute and her heart as always is brimming with love for kids and being a kid. If you live in the Central Virginia/Charlottesville area, you should head over to her facebook page The Sweet Tooth of Charlottesville, Va. and “like” it so you can get updates on where she’ll be throughout the summer months or even book her for fun birthday parties and events. This would make an awesome birthday party theme. Hmmm… maybe I can get her to come back next summer for Cate’s 7th party? 😉 Anyways, here are some photos I snapped as the kids enjoyed eating the ice cream AND selling it. They had a blast riding around the neighborhood in it!
What was your favorite ice cream truck treat?
