After over a week traveling around the great states of Virginia, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania….we are HOME. phew. It was a great trip and we saw lots of family, but it’s good to be back home again! I also had a blast at CKC Valley Forge….so many great people in my classes, getting to meet members from SC in real life, and just hanging out with the SC crew…loved it!
Speaking of the SC crew, my next stop on my day of catching up at home is to check out the gallery for Boardwalk. I still haven’t seen it, sad to say! Here are my pages for the month….
This page was a little tedious, but really wasn’t bad once I cut all the strips and figured out how to get them different lines to match up. I worked in three panels of vellum cut the same size and glued my strips of paper onto the vellum panels. That way I was able to make sure the strips matched up at the right angle by flipping two panels face to face and seeing my template strip underneath. Does that make sense? Then I just glued down the vellum panels to the cardstock background.
This page gave me heartburn. Seriously, I moved things around on it for days and it looks nothing like I had envisioned in my mind. But it’s done! Sometimes I just need to glue it down and walk away. I stamped the map stamp on the backgound and then used vellum on top of it to soften it a bit. The mailing tags were from my stash. I love how the mistables trim take the mist so beautifully!
I went a little banner crazy on this one! Stitched some of the twine onto the page first and then cut little triange banner pieces out of various patterned papers and the BG Petals. Then stamped the frames stamp and embossed with zing. This is definitely my favorite page right now.
