First I have to remind you that it’s almost NSD! Get those photos printed. Get your stash of snacks and Dr. Pepper. Get the kids out of your hair. Get it all ready so you can spend Saturday with us over at SC. So fun!
Second, I have some layouts to share with Granny’s Cupboard, May’s kit. And can you believe that it’s MAY!? Goodness. Someone on the message boards commented that she likes how DT member do a little show and tell so to speak of their gallery layouts. I have to admit that I enjoy reading other people’s creative thought processes too, so here goes… just scroll past the text and look at the photos if you don’t want to read my blah blah blah. LOL!
This was my first layout I did with the kit. I love these pics of Will checking himself out in the mirror. Too cute! Loved the yellow touches in the SC paper and thought it went well with the yellow in the pics.
I tried to create a mirrored image effect by handstitching the title’s mirror image below the pics and with the curve of the Maya Road envelopes. And I used this handy dandy journaling lines stamp to house my journaling. That stamp is a must have!!!! Love it.
This was my next layout. I love the Making Memories felt stars. So sweet. Having 3 boys now, I’m always looking for stars as little embellishments. There like the flower for boys. 😉 Anyways, I broke out the months stamp set and went to town. Stamped “november” all over the background for some texture. Then arranged my other items. I also used the months stamps to make part of my title actually. I stamped “november” on the orange-ish OA paper and then cut out a “o” “n” “e” from the word “november” to spell out “one” for my title. Handstitched the big star around the title to go with the star felt pieces and printed my journaling on some beloved vellum.
Then I did this one… with some photos I had Cate take of me and Will. I love these photos actually…even though I’m in them! LOL
I cropped the pics to fit in the quilted squares of the patterned paper. Then I used the K and Co. lace frames to frame out some other squares. It was a fast page that really just fell together. Love when that happens!
After that I had ideas out of the blue for the last two pages. First this one…
Photos are from my sister’s wedding in France. A total fairy tale event! I wanted to use my 1.5 inch circle punch for the photos, so I printed them out at 2×3 first. Then I punched away. Used lots of K and Co die cuts here and hambly. I punched the big circle to mat the focal photo with this 2.5 inch circle punch. And then I also used the fabulous photo label punch to punch out the words happy memories from the large sheet of OA paper.
And then last came probably my favorite one of the bunch. Anyone else ever “hold on” to a photo waiting for the perfect papers/embellies to use with it? That was this photo. And when I saw the moments paper and the colors of the kit, etc… I figured now was the time to scrap it!
Here’s some shop items I used for this one… border punch, twine, red paint, glossy accents. I painted the bubble chip first, then applied glossy accents. Then filled it with stuff. And those pretty pretty glitter brads that I loved!
And that’s it. I have to say I loved working with this kit. And oh my…not to be a tease…but I just put my order in for June’s kit and it’s just as amazing. Yay SC! 😉
