There’s a thread over at SC asking the DT to share their scrap areas. So, eventhough it’s not too exciting or inspiring… I thought I’d share. I know I always enjoy seeing where other people scrap!
My little area is in our playroom/rec room. It’s actually supposed to be the first floor master bedroom, so it’s a nice sized room with a fireplace, bathrooom, and large closet (where I hide a lot of stuff in an old dresser!). My scrap stuff takes up the one wall. Here it is as you look into the room.
(sorry my pics are so grainy.. I had my ISO way high since it’s such a dark and dreary day here today!) I have a big dining table we got at Walmart several years ago. On it sits my computer, MM carousel (which I LOVE), my new Slice, and a basket full of photos.
Next to my desk is a tall metal bakers rack storage shelf thing. How’s that for a description.
And underneath you can see my little metal cart with all my scraps in it, along with my computer. The shelving holds lots of baskets and bins, my paper, and my albums.
I need to order more of the black canvas bins from Target to replace those old white ones (that actually were part of the white cubes I’ll show next). In each black bin I have embellies sorted by general type. Rub-ons, naked chipboard, printed chipboard, buttons, ribbon, labels, stickers, etc. The green bins, which I LOVE but can’t find any more of (also from Target) hold my alphas. They aren’t sorted or anything… just placed in there and I flip through them to find what I want. I have more storage on the very top shelf.. clear stamp sets are in that floral thing, and then older stuff in the black boxes. I have some fabric and mini books in the baskets on the way top. My papers are all in vertical holders. And the milk crate type basket is my special SC basket. I used to put all the leftovers from kits in there, but after about a year it was FULL to overflowing. So now I break the kits apart and add to my stash. But this basket still has the first year’s stuff in it, along with special SC exclusives that I want to keep separate.
Next to my shelving I have these white cubes stacked up. They hold mostly DT stuff. The first cube is FULL of Pink Paislee. The second one has a open spot where I put my finished pages until they get placed in an album and then two drawers that are full of Creative Cafe papers. There’s more CC stuff on the top in baskets and in the very bottom. Then I have this MM wall thing that needs to be moved to above my table.
I need to reorganize it once we move it. The one thing I do love about my space is that it’s in the playroom. So I can be right here among the chaos while I scrap. Santa brought the kids their own craft table this year and a new easel. So now it’s a real art studio in here!
There’s a little play kitchen next to the bookshelf and lots of their toys luckily fit into the room’s closet so they aren’t sitting out all the time. And here’s the view the other way… I get to watch TV with dh while I scrap at night. He’s sweet and watches on this littler TV with me instead of the better one in the family room! LOL What a guy!
And that’s it I think. Let me know if you have any questions and I’ll try to answer them! Have a great day!
