I’ve been a busy beaver lately. But not with scrapping. Mostly home improvement type things. I spent most of last week painting Cate’s room. I did it on my own with her home with me (you can imagine how productive that was!) so it took a few days to complete! Here was my inspiration…from Pottery Barn Kids of course.
I was so scared of doing a pink room b/c they sometimes end up sort of day glow pink, but I liked how in this room they did half or 2/3 or the wall pink and left the upper part white. See the scalloped edge on the one wall under the shelf? SCALLOPS? My favorite….sigh. I did them around the whole room. I started by drawing my level line around the whole room at the height I wanted. Then I traced half a kid’s sized plate above the line to get my scallop border. Finally I painted it pink. It was a little tedious b/c I had to hand paint the scallop with a little brush and then use the roller for the rest of it…but it got done and I think it looks really cute! I also put together all her new furniture. We got her the Shabby Chic line from Target. Very pretty (and inexpensive) all put together.
And Sweet Cakes… yum!
Plus, they came out with colored rub-ons and ribbon…so so pretty! Go see it all on their blog.
Speaking of Pink Paislee (don’t you just love that name?), it was my turn last week to post a project for Thursday Trends. I came up with this little album. I used several Topsiders stacked on top of each other, punched holes with my trusty cropadile and then used a binder ring to hold them together. An easy and cute little book.
And finally, here’s a little project I did with Cate this afternoon with some Creative Cafe buttons and some dollar store rings. Actually the rings came in a pack of ten for a dollar…so super cheap! I saw this idea in Family Fun magazine and had to try it with the CC buttons.
They were so easy to make and Cate could actually help with the glue and everything. Here’s my little hand model.
Be sure to stop by the Creative Cafe blog to get in on the giveaways they are doing each Wednesday… good stuff!
Okay… think that’s it for today. I’m off to organize this mess of a desk!
