I started teaching scrapbooking classes several years ago and I’ve always really enjoyed it. It’s a challenge to design the class that will appeal to a variety of people and then of course the actual teaching part is always fun. It lets me relive my former life as a high school teacher. Plus, I get to meet so many great ladies and learn from them at the same time! Anyways, when we moved a year and a half ago I had to stop teaching b/c the drive to the LSS was just too far. But Cheryl at Scrapdoodles convinced me to give it a try again. I won’t be teaching on a regular basis there, but maybe sporadically here and there if it works out. Yay!
I’ll be at Scrapdoodles on Saturday, October 4th to teach two classes using Pink Paislee. The first is called “Beauty Tips” and uses the Pop Fashion line and this adorable little chipboard album from Maya Road. I printed out a bunch of beauty quotes and “tips” that talk about real beauty and used them as the journaling in the book… Here’s one of my favorite quotes in the book (by Audrey Hepburn):
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
And here’s a little peek at the book…
The second class is a Halloween minibook using the house chipboard binder from Maya Road, Vintage Moon from Pink Paislee, and some cute Halloween themed fabrics.
So, if you live in the Fredericksburg, Northern Virginia, Richmond area and are looking for something to do on the 4th… I’d love to see you there! Check out the Scrapdoodles site for more info or call them at 540.548.3788. I also may have some leftover kits… let me know if you are interested!
Have a great day!
