Finally getting around to sharing my projects for this month’s Studio Calico kit. Without further ado… here they are.
My boys have recently entered into the superhero worship phase. I have to say I prefered Thomas and Friends over characters like Batman, Goblin, Spiderman, etc. Being one of three girls I didn’t realize that little boys got into this stuff with such gusto! Add this new obsession to the fact that Jack LOVES to dress up in play stuff … and you have a great photo op! He’s giving me his “superhero glare” here. Ha!
Every month I have one layout that I just am not happy with. And this month…it’s the following layout. I like it better in real life than in the photo below, but it just didn’t turn out how I wanted it to. Which is okay. I guess. It’s just interesting that every month I’m so so on one of my pages. Not that I think the rest are awesome or anything (HA!)…it’s just that they feel finished to me. This one doesn’t. Okay..I’m babbling. Here it is. Blah.
Onto the next one. I really like this one. Working on this one is what convinced me I must have the Jenni Bowlin crepe paper ribbon in every color. It’s harder to see in this photo, but the layers of white scallops are supposed to be like waves or something. Too cheesy? Anyways, I cut one of the Anna Griffin journaling spots so that I was left with just the inner part of it (inside the border) and used that as a template to cut out my photos so that they would fit into the uncut journaling spots.
Cate’s third bday photo. She’s so funny…kept telling everyone she was five instead of three. She wants to be big like her brothers so badly! I used the Jenni Bowlin mini book pages as masks on this to create the pinked white journaling blocks on the pink paint.
Finally this one… I was first going to make a little card using the umbrella guy and gal stamp and say something about “rain or shine I’m right by your side” or something like that. Then I got the idea to do a wedding page and dug out one of the b/w photos from our wedding day. I used the ribbon as a frame around the photo and backed the Heidi Swapp transparency with some patterned paper to make it stand out.
One more bit of news for you… I’m going to be teaching at Scrapdoodles (in Fredericksburg, VA) in early October. Two mini-book classes full of Pink Paislee goodies. Hopefully I’ll get the second one finished this weekend and post some teaser pics soon! It’s been almost 2 years since I taught a scrapbook class and I have missed it. If you live in the NoVA or Richmond area…stop by! Scrapdoodles is an awesome store!
